DEFENDING FROG LAKE:

An Analysis of the

Frog Lake Massacre

The Frog Lake massacre, an incident tragically out of character for the Plains Cree, has never been adequately explored.

Author Garry Radison offers new information and fresh analysis, his title pointing, not only to the Cree's motivation, but to a defense of history by challenging the inaccurate accounts and conclusions that, to date, have dominated the study of this event.

FINE DAY: PLAINS CREE WARRIOR, SHAMAN & ELDER

by Garry Radison

During his long life from 1856 to 1942, Fine Day lived with remarkable courage and integrity. He became Head Warrior of the Rattler Society, was the war chief during the Defense at Cut Knife Hill in 1885, and continued, during his life on the Sweetgrass Reserve, to promote the Thirst Dance ceremony and Cree culture.
